Can’t see your TV?
This page never searches for televisions. Chrome does, on the network the phone is joined to, and hands the list over. So a TV that shows its own “ready to cast” screen and still doesn't appear here is almost always a network split, not a fault in the app.
- Same Wi‑Fi, same name. Not the guest network, and not a separate 5 GHz name. Two bands sold as two networks are two networks.
- Client isolation off. Mesh kits and hotel-style routers ship it on; it blocks exactly this. It is sometimes called AP isolation or Guest mode.
- A Samsung TV has no Cast of its own. If that screen is there, something is plugged into it: a Chromecast or a Google TV stick, and that is what holds the Wi‑Fi setting. Check it in the Google Home app, not in the TV's menu.
- Close the setup screen on the TV, then power-cycle the stick and reload this page.
If another television answers from this same phone right now, the phone is fine and the difference is on that device.

Samsung: use the built-in Internet app. Sony Bravia: install TV Bro from the Play Store on the TV.
Disconnecting stops anything playing on the TV. Films then play on this phone until you connect again.

- Chromecast, Google TV, Android TV (Sony, TCL, Hisense)
- Use Cast to TV. Chrome on Android or desktop Chrome only — other browsers have no Cast API.
- Apple TV, AirPlay speakers
- Use AirPlay in Safari on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- Samsung and LG
- Browsers can't reach these directly. Tap Open in VLC and use VLC's cast icon — it finds them over DLNA. Phone mirroring (Smart View) also works.
- Roku, Fire TV
- Neither speaks Cast, and no browser can reach them — they need each maker's own app. Open in VLC is the way across: VLC finds them on the Wi‑Fi and this hands it the link.
- Mirroring the whole phone screen
- Still not something a website can do, and the reason is worth knowing: the Cast API takes an address for the TV to fetch, never a live picture. Put this screen on the TV above has the exact steps for whatever you are holding.
- A video already on the phone
- Choose a video on this phone plays it here straight away. The TV still cannot reach the phone's storage, so sending it copies the file to the stream host first and gives the TV an address there — deleted again within a day.
- Bilibili
- Paste a bilibili.com/video/BV… or b23.tv link and it is resolved through Bilibili's own API — the page itself refuses this server. Signing in under Bilibili above raises the quality and reaches members-only videos. Casting is capped at 720p, because that is the best quality Bilibili serves as a single file, and a television can only be handed one address.
- Bilibili TV
- bilibili.tv and bili.im are the international site, a separate catalogue and a separate sign-in from bilibili.com. Both a series (/play/…) and a user upload (/video/…) work; it serves DASH, so this app builds the manifest the television needs rather than handing it a file. Its catalogue is licensed per country, so a title can play in the app on your phone and still be refused here — that refusal names the code when it happens.
- Subtitles
- Paste an .srt or .vtt link under Subtitles. SRT is converted for you — the TV only accepts VTT. Adding one mid-film reloads it and picks up where it was.
- A stream that plays here but not on the TV
- The TV fetches the link itself, so it has to be a public https address. Links that need a login or a signed cookie won't reach it.
